Growing up in London, I was lucky to have pen pals from all over the world. Each letter I received felt magical, personal and unforgettable. I adored hearing their stories, sharing mine, discovering the paper they’d write on and any extras they’d send. That joy is something I truly cherish and miss in this fast-paced digital world.
During a spring clean, I discovered a collage I had made with the stamps from the letters I had received many moons ago. It got me thinking about how I could reconnect with this ritual of connection, intention and slowness.
I started to speak to friends and family about their experiences. I discovered
such heartwarming tales about letters they have written and received in the
past. I suppose I shouldn’t have been surprised as the UK is steeped in a rich
history of written correspondence.
Another one of my hobbies is story writing, so I’ve decided to combine both passions and create Old Park Letters- subscription-based storytelling that revives the lost art of British letter writing.
Each month, I will send you a personally addressed letter straight to your door. The stories will unravel, one letter at a time. Each letter is crafted slowly and sealed with care. With each delivery, I hope to provide you with a moment to slow down, reflect, dream and connect in a world that moves so fast.
I hope you will enjoy receiving my letters as much as I have enjoyed creating them.
